Bitesize Prediction: Montpellier vs Nice – 27/05/23

Market: Montpellier double chance

Odds: 8/15 @

Hoping to secure back-to-back Ligue 1 victories and making another statement here, Montpellier will welcome Nice to the Stade de la Mosson on Saturday night.

Starting with the hosts, making a return to winning ways last week as they stormed their way to a routine 3-0 romp away at Nantes, Montpellier will be desperate to produce a repeat display here. While Michel Der Zakarian’s side might have eventually fallen to that remarkable 5-4 loss at the hands of Lyon on May 7th, La Paillade should still find the mood in their camp at a real high. Although the Occitanie-based outfit might know that they need a minor miracle in their bid to book a top-half Ligue 1 finish, Saturday’s hosts are signing off the 2022/23 campaign with a flurry. Losing just one of their last five top-flight appearances a run that stems back to April 16th the former Brest boss has seen his side find a real clinical edge in the final third. Claiming what was a famous 4-0 win when they traveled to French giants Monaco on April 30th, Montpellier should be smelling the chance to make another Ligue 1 statement here.

As for the visitors, suffering Conference League heartbreak at the hands of Basel last month, it is fair to say that Nice are in the midst of an extended rut. Last seen putting in another downbeat display as they had to settle for a 0-0 stalemate at home against Toulouse, Didier Digard’s side have the feel of a squad seeking a much-needed boost. Now simply in a battle to book a top-half finish in 2023, the Eaglets have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their last 11 straight appearances across all competitions a run that stems all the way back to March 16th. Drawing back-to-back blanks and coming under some recent scrutiny, Nice will know that they should face another tough challenge when they travel to Montpellier on Saturday night. It should also be highlighted, last seen away from the Allianz Riviera slumping to a 2-0 loss at the hands of Strasbourg, Digard’s inconsistent squad have mustered just a sole win from their previous six appearances on the road.

Bet: Montpellier double chance against Nice 8/15 for Saturday s Ligue 1 showdown @
