data-mm-id=”_at2ecy4rs”>Jaylen Brown might be the most important person in the NBA right now. Brown, just 23, was already vice president of the NBA Players Association, but now, with America on the edge of who knows what, Brown is emerging as a civic leader. Here's what Brown wrote in The Guardian on April 19th. "Just" 30,000 people had died from COVID-19 when this was published. We crossed the 100,000 death milestone last week. “Misinformation is at a peak, and I can feel the collective restlessness increase as the days pass. You are not alone. It seems like the people responsible for conveying information all have different messages with separate agendas. From our local media to our governing officials all the way up to the man in the suit. In this most dire of times, there have been displays of dissidence, and controversy from our political elites, causing confusion among the public. If that last sentence applies to you, our frustrations are shared. With that being said, it is paramount that everyone remains calm. An outbreak of turmoil and chaos that matches the pandemic would be further detrimental to not just the economy, but to us as a society, and community, as a whole.”Two days later, Brown asked people to stay home despite an easing of restrictions in his home state of Georgia. Over the last few weeks cases have spiked in the state. So it should be no surprise that on Saturday, Brown again stepped up, driving 15 hours from Boston to Atlanta to lead a peaceful protest. View this post on Instagram 3 people were arrested today ??♂️ this was a peaceful protest the police used tactics to try to intimidate our group we did not loot or riot or disturb the public .. why were 3 people apprehended ? We have a right to voice our pain and you don’t have a right to quiet that or control it ! When it’s non peaceful it’s a problem and when it’s peaceful it’s problem ! You except people to do nothing? YEA AITE not gone happen A post shared by جيلين براون (@fchwpo) on May 30, 2020 at 7:19pm PDTBrown was joined by Malcolm Brogdon and Justin Anderson. Brogdon credited Brown's leadership in helping keep things civil. “Jaylen has led this charge, man, and I’m proud of him. We need more leaders.” View this post on Instagram @malcolmbrogdon @jusanderson1 A post shared by جيلين براون (@fchwpo) on May 30, 2020 at 5:26pm PDTBrown is clearly the type of person the nation needs right now. High-profile, willing to get involved, and most importantly, well-informed. Brown's actions over the last few months have been out of concern for the well-being of society. He has no ulterior motive. He's not profiting off telling people to stay home, be safe and watch out for each other.

Rubin Kazan have won the Russian championship for the second time in a row. A goalless draw with Zenit St Petersburg was enough for the defending champions to retain their crown.

As such, Rubin s lead over Spartak now stands at five points and with next week s fixtures still to go, the Kazan outfit are already certain of their second Russian title.
Rubin have formed part of the Russian top flight since 2003, and have never finished lower than tenth place since. In 2008, they won their first championship.

Struggling Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart on Sunday sacked coach Markus Babbel just days before their crucial Champions League clash, according to a report by German daily Bild.
Bild.de report the 37-year-old was sacked less than 24 hours after his side drew 1-1 with Bochum which left them third from the bottom of the German league with just two wins to their credit all season with 12 points from 15 games.
Ironically, Stuttgart still have the chance to reach the knock-out stages of the Champions League if they beat Romanian champions Unirea Urziceni at home on Wednesday.
After Saturday s draw, a group of several thousand angry Stuttgart fans, demanding Babbel s resignation, squared off with police wearing riot gear outside Stuttgart s Mercedes-Benz Arena.
